J. Baker's

I stumbled across J. Baker’s on Fossgate in March 2008 when I stayed in York for a couple of nights. The highlight of a lunch was a Marinated Mackerel dish that was so good that I ended up ordering second portion rather than dessert. Since then, I’ve tried to visit fairly regularly. The menu focuses on seasonal food but so far I’ve been unable to time my visit to coincide with the mackerel being back on the menu. A couple of summer visits confirmed J. Baker’s as a favourite with my children too.
