Lavender House, Brundall

Picture
Lavender House is run by Richard Hughes in a charming thatched cottage in the centre of Brundall, 5 miles east of Norwich. The restaurant tends to only open round the weekend but hosts cookery schools and open evenings throughout the year. The in-laws live in the village so it was the ideal venue to celebrate a number of coincident family birthdays. The convivial atmosphere of the restaurant makes it an ideal venue for such an occasion.

The restaurant tends to have an informal style and, as host, Richard Hughes is there to pour drinks for you as you first arrive and take orders. Dinner tends to be a four-course menu with four choices per course.

These are my chosen courses from the July dinner menu.
